Meetings
All meetings held at the Robert K. Shafer Middle School Library
Several times a year, BADGE schedules informative and thought-provoking programs ranging from presentations by experts in the field of gifted education, to forums for parents and teachers, to presentations by teachers, students, and former students.
Additional issue-oriented meetings are called as they are needed, and frequently committees are formed to work together on solutions to specific problems.
Yearly events and activities.
Volunteers are needed to participate in the following;

5th grade transition party
In June BADGE sponsors a bowling party for the 5th grade SIP students. This event provides a chance for the children to meet their new classmates and ease their concerns about starting middle school. Parents of children currently in 5th grade are asked to consider volunteering and donations of goodies and water to go with the pizza provided are accepted.
Back to School Nights
Thanks to all the people who have offered to help with Back to School Nights. If you would like to volunteer to be the second person at one of our information tables or have any questions, please contact BADGE (Dates are given out by each school and papers are brought home by the student.)

Pride Day (every September)
We are also looking for people to assist for an hour or two at our information table at any time between 8AM- 6PM. If can't commit to a specific time, just come by the table, hang out, and chat with people for as long as you can. Given the nature of Pride Day, if you'd like to--or have to--feel free to bring your children along.
We need donations of "treats" like cookies, brownies, or cupcakes to sell. Those may be dropped off at our table anytime during the day. For more information about Pride Day, contact Ruth at *pending*
Please save your books and special magazines to recycle at our table. We have a basket for donations and give the books away for free. We actually make more money this way than selling them and it frees us up from counting change to talk with people.
Information Tables
One of the challenges BADGE faces is that often the parents with the most questions are those whose children are not yet in the gifted program. To reach these people and others, BADGE volunteers offer information and handouts at all of Bensalem's Back to School Nights, at 9th grade orientation, and at Pride Day.
Even if you can't assist us at any of these events, please stop to say hello, look at our handouts, and of course, pay your $5 BADGE dues. :)
