Who we are and what we do

Welcome to BADGE, Bensalem Association Dedicated to Gifted Education.
We are a group of Parents, Teachers, and Educators working together as advocates for gifted students in Bensalem and the program designed for their needs.  We address the unique needs of the children and help parents seeking more information.  We are affiliated with PAGE, Pennsylvania Association for Gifted Education (an Affiliate Chapter of the National Association of Gifted)

Parent to Parent - Badge gives us the opportunity to share our experience and our knowledge, to ask what the road might be like ahead, and to try to make the way smooth for those coming after us.  You might even wonder if you need BADGE or "Is my child gifted?"

Parents and Teaching Staff - Badge gives us a place to meet on broad issues and to try to help make the teaching and learning experience as rich and rewarding as possible.

Parents, Teachers, Administration and Board - Badge gives us an opportunity to examine together the best ways to implement a sound teaching and learning program as well as provide a forum for framing issues that affect teaching and learning.

Newsletters - BADGE publishes occasional newsletters each year to highlight special issues and generally keep us all up to date.

Library - BADGE maintains a small library within the Shafer Middle School library with printed information on legislation, programs, parenting and teaching ideas, and information from professional organizations.  In that collection, there are also videotapes of BADGE programs.

Advocacy - The most important function of BADGE is its advocacy for  the gifted students in Bensalem and the program designed for their needs; a program which is unmatched in Pennsylvania.
